Beginning over 30 years ago as a small upholstery shop, the company has evolved to manufacture and deliver high quality, beautifully designed furniture for niche hospitality markets, with some of the most well-known entities in the world.
They have their eyes set on further growth and expansion, and we are proud to support them in hiring a dynamic Director of Commercial Sales for a newly created role that will specifically build out a new commercial division. The successful candidate will have substantial experience and success in commercial furniture sales and comes with an entrepreneurial mindset. What Will You Do?
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with dealer sales teams
- Build strong relationships with external clients and key industry influencers
- Co-develop and implement strategic account plans for key competitive accounts and opportunities
- Bring insights and feedback to relevant internal teams, such as Design and Manufacturing, Customer Service
- Work to build out the commercial division team, which will include hiring and employee management
- Will travel to customer meetings (Canada, US, potentially globally) to deliver presentations, determine customer needs
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, happenings by attending trade shows and other networking opportunities
- Maintain the CRM system accurately
What Do You Bring?
- A minimum 5 years of sales experience in the commercial furniture space
- Post-secondary education in business, design, or similar is an asset
- A highly entrepreneurial and driven attitude with a proven track record of securing new business and maintaining customer relationships
- Strong computer skills including MS Office, ERP/CRM systems, social media
- Ability to travel internationally (valid drivers license with a clean driving record and Passport are required)
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to be a consultative and strategic partner to customers and other stakeholders
- Confident, challenger-style, data-driven sales approach
- Strong planning, organization, and time‑management skills
- Established connections in the built environment community
- A resilient and positive attitude
- People leadership / sales leadership experience is preferred
